Dr. Virág Fehér

M.D., M.I.C.G.P., M.H.M.C.

Principal doctor

Dr. Fehér obtained her diploma in general medicine and became family medicine specialist at the University of Pécs, Hungary in 1998 and 2003, respectively.

During her training, she studied the side effects of paracetamol and the molecular epidemiology of human breast cancer. She defended her thesis and became Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) with First Class Honours degree.

She has been working in GP practices in Hungary and Ireland since 2000 and 2008, respectively. She established her own Galway-based practice in 2012 that has recently been expanded as “The Heights Medical Centre”.

She is member of the Irish College of General Practitioners (I.C.G.P.) and registered in the specialist register of the Irish Medical Council (I.M.C.).

Besides being a specialist in family medicine, Dr. Fehér has also been certified in:

  • Family planning (awarded by the I.C.G.P., Ireland)
  • Minor surgery (awarded by the I.C.G.P., Ireland)
  • Diagnostic ultrasound (awarded by the Hungarian Radiologist Society, Hungary)
  • Cervical cancer screening (awarded by the I.C.G.P., Ireland)
  • Fetal medicine (awarded by the Fetal Medicine Foundation, UK)
  • Early pregnancy ultrasound (awarded by the Centre for Ultrasound Studies, UK)

Roxana Crisan

Practice nurse

Roxana is a general nurse completed her training in Brasov in 2001. She worked as general nurse in the Children Hospital and in the National Hospital in Brasov. She has experience with assisting in both dental  and medical procedures in children. She has completed numerous courses in the field of caring for elderly. She is also certified phlebotomist. She joined The Heights Medical Centre in 2021.

Jaziba Tahir

Practice secretary

Jaziba has been trained for being a general nurse in UK. She joined The Heights Medical Centre as practice secretary in 2023.

Medical Centre

The Heights Medical Centre is now accommodated in purpose-built premises just off Coolough Road, opposite from the Menlo Park Hotel. The Centre is conveniently located for both members of the local community of the Tirellan and Castlelawn Heights and patients from more remote areas of Galway.

Approaching by bus, we are just off the Castlelawn Heights bus stop of line 407 starting from city centre. Should you come by car, we have ample parking space both in front and behind the building we are located in.

The Centre has recently been renovated to the highest standards. As part of this work, literally, every corner of the Centre has been reconsidered and renewed in order to meet contemporary needs of our patients and medical professionals alike. In accordance, The Heights Medical Centre has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including on-site ultrasound and cardiology units with 3D/4D ultrasound and digital ECG, respectively, dedicated pediatric examination room, convenient waiting area and facilities for our disabled patients.
